While the entire world is battling with the deadly CoronaVirus pandemic, there is still no assurance whether or not the vaccine will do full justice in ending this pandemic. The only thing that needs to be prioritised as of now stands to be your Immunity.

Not just Covid19, but the strength of your Immunity plays a major role in keeping you away from the hazards of infectious diseases. Before you jump to the ways in boosting your immunity, it is important how your Immunity helps in fighting these viruses, and the relation of Immunity with such viruses.

An individual’s immune system is a small network of cells, tissues and organs that bind together to play a defensive role against the entry of foreign particles such as germs, viruses and harmful bacteria. The food you eat, the lifestyle you adapt, the way you connect with the surrounding objects, all of these are in a way contributing to building up your immune system externally.

Meditation / Yoga – Meditation, often practised when you’re dealing with stress is a mindful exercise that is also helpful in maintaining the overall well-being of the body. It eases you from the external chaos and distractions. Practising Yoga for around 30 minutes in a day,or simply just focusing on your breathing patterns while meditating for around 10 minutes in a day, can make a big difference not only for your mind, but also for your body throughout your life. It is highly beneficial in keeping you away from negativity and surrounds you with positive vibes, thus leading to a better, sound body.

Immune boosting Foods – While there is no specific food item curated especially for shooting up your immune system rapidly, there are some basic diet choices you need to make, for a stronger immunity. In order to strengthen your immunity, include foods that are rich in vitamins, especially vitamin C. Vitamin C is responsible for making the body alkaline, thus restricting the foreign particles to enter into your body. Include foods such as broccoli, spinach, leafy greens, sweet potatoes, tomatoes etc. which are rich in Vitamin C apart from Minerals. Citrus fruits, Mango and Strawberries also can be added for your tasty food desires.

Apart from Vitamin C rich food supplements, include Soaked Almonds, Soaked Groundnuts in your diet which improves the fighter cells – White Blood Corpuscles, known to defend against viruses and infections.

Stay Hydrated – Staying hydrated is one of the essential ways in improving your immunity because hydration leads to flushing out the harmful toxins from your body, thus cleansing the body from unwanted bacteria to reside into the body.

Sleep Well – With the increase in the usage of cellular phones, there has been a major compromise in the sleeping patterns, especially among kids and adults. While lack of sleep causes several other problems in your old age, Immunity is the first thing being affected due to less sleep. It is advisable to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night. While you’re deep asleep, the human body tends to carry out several functions internally, right from natural repairs to all the wear and tear of the body tissues. Being sleep-deprived will only make you more lethargic and more tired, hence it is necessary to get a good 7-8 hours of sound sleep for boosting your immune system.
