Farting or Burping might just be the right words if you ever bump into Flatulence. While this sounds as quite a fancy word to digest in our systems, the simplest way one can understand the meaning of Flatulence is Excessive Gas or Frequent Burping. It might seem to be not a big deal, but the origin from where the gas starts, and how it ends, it can help treat the painful and embarrassing symptoms of flatulence.

Usually, burping and belching which is the gas that escapes from the mouth and flatulence or farting which refers to gas that escapes from the rectum, are two health concerns many of us often experience because of slight changes in the routine, lifestyle, eating habits, etc.

Gas in the stomach usually occurs when you swallow air while consuming food. The gas which is passed by farting or flatulence is caused because of the body’s inability to absorb carbs in the intestine. The undigested food which is passed into the small intestine is broken down into hydrogen, carbon dioxide and methane at some time. But not everyone experiences this.

Suffering from gas right after eating is a common experience, but what stays unusual or rather risky is if the gas is painful and causes other health disorders such as breathlessness, nausea, stomach ache, etc. Eliminate and adapt several healthy habits and eating choices to stop feeling embarrassed and prevent the problems of flatulence with some simple home remedies listed below:

  • Prepare a concoction of Carom Seeds, often known by Ajwain. Take 2 tsp of Ajwain and mix with 1 glass of Regular Water. Consume this liquid mixture everyday before lunch and dinner to avoid flatulence.
  • While craving for something sweet and if you’re looking for ways to prevent bloating or blenching, consume ½ tsp of Organic Jaggery everyday on an empty stomach.
  • Wheat not being the healthiest grain as compared to other wholegrains, it is recommended to replace wheat flour with either Jowar, Bajra or Ragi, all of which are highly rich in Dietary Fiber and Protein, along with bearing the property of preventing flatulence naturally.
  • For quick relief and instant results, you can also start consuming a mixture of 1 tbsp each of Cumin Seeds, Fennel Seeds and Dill Seeds mixed in equal proportions.
  • Eat and Drink slowly and don’t rush when consuming meals. When you are in a hurry and gulp your food, there is a chance you might swallow a lot of air which eventually ends up causing Gas.
  • Avoid or Stop right away certain bad habits like smoking, alcohol consumption and chewing gum if you’re more prone to suffer from gas.
